gronkal recipe, Swedish green cabbage


Gronkal recipe. Swedish green cabbage, also called langkal.
Often served for christmas at the julbord.

Serves four:

500 grams (1.1 pounds) Green Cabbage or Collard Greens
2 dl (0.8 cups) Cream
1 tbs Butter
1/2 tsp Sugar
1 Stock (Bouillon) Cube

1. Fry the cabbage or greens in butter until soft, poor over the cream.

2. Add the stock cube, then let simmer for about five minutes season with the sugar and taste before serving.

Served traditionally as a part of the Swedish christmas table.
