Frikadeller recipe, Danish meatballs

Frikadeller recipe, meatballs from Denmark. A classic Danish dish.

Serves four:

225 grams (0.5 pounds) Minced Veal
225 grams (0.5 pounds) Minced Pork
3 dl (1.2 cups) Milk
1 Onion
3 tbs Plain Flour
1 Egg

Salt & Pepper

1. Mix flour and milk. Peel and finely chop the onion. Add the meat to a bowl.

2. Add a little at a time of the milk and flour mixture to the minced meat. When done, mix in the onion, the egg, salt and pepper.

3. Let the mixture rest in refrigerator for at least one hour. Then form to small patties.

4. Heat up a pan, add butter and fry the meatballs golden on both sides.

Serve with boiled potatoes, brown sauce (brunsås) and perhaps red cabbage (rödkål).
