julkottbullar recipe, Swedish christmas meatballs

Julkottbullar recipe. Swedish christmas meatballs.
Served at the julbord, or christmas table.

Serves four:

750 grams (1.7 pounds) of Minced Meat (beef, pork or both)
1 Onion
2 teaspoons of Mustard
1 dl (0.8 cups) Milk
1 Egg
1 tsp Allspice
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
about 3-4 dl (1.5 cups) Bread Crumbs

Salt & Pepper
Butter for frying

1. First, chop the onion, then put the milk in a bowl, and add the crumbs. Let them rest for about ten minutes, then add the chopped onion, the egg, allspice, cinnamon, mustard and the meat.

2. Mix the ingredients together and season with salt and pepper. Take some of the mixture and roll until you have a small meatball, it should be smaller than a regular swedish meatball, keep doing this until all of the mixture is used. Finish with rolling the meatballs in breadcrumbs.

3. Melt butter in a pan, then fry the meatballs at medium temperature until golden brown. When ready, remove the meatballs from the pan.

Serve at the christmas table.
