Ärtsoppa recipe, Swedish pea-soup

Ärtsoppa or artsoppa recipe. Swedish classic pea-soup,
often served with fried pork and mustard.

Serves four:

300 grams (0.6 pounds) dried Yellow Peas
1 Onion, finely chopped
1 tsp Marjoram
1.5 litres (6 cups) Water
2-3 cubes Chicken Stock

Salt & Pepper

Serve with:


1. Rinse and soak the yellow peas in cold water for about 10 hours.

2. Change water and bring to a boil, remove any shell who floats, when finished, add the onion, stock and marjoram.

3. Taste, add anything needed and then let simmer under a lid for about 2 hours.

Serve with fried crispy bacon and mustard.
